Position Summary: The Building and Construction Sales Account Manager optimizes sales growth and profitability in support of the business unit's sales strategy and objectives. Primary responsibilities include the entire sales cycle from researching and identifying viable opportunities to closing sales and maintaining profitable accounts. This position requires extensive coordination and communication with external customers as well as internal employees including technical support, customer service, finance, and operations. This position will be responsible for a portfolio of $7 - $10 million.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field

Career Path: Desire to move into a Sales Management capacity.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience selling masterbatch, plastic resins, custom compounds, or related products to converters. Proficient knowledge of PVC precolor compounds.

Location: South East or Mid West (Ohio)

Travel: 25-50% domestic travel required

Essential Duties: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The duties listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Maintains Sales Growth by managing accounts with emphasis on developing new opportunities; supporting strategic objectives of sales team and organization; working within a highly motivated sales group with a strong team atmosphere; meeting or exceeding Performance Measures as assigned by Sales Director; demonstrating basic technical knowledge of plastics processes, color feed systems, and problem solving methods as they relate to the effective use of masterbatch materials; demonstrating technical knowledge of extrusion and/or injection molding processes; ability to describe color by industry accepted methods including spectrophotometric outputs and attending all required internal functions.
  • Strategic Account Management: Ability to manage large complex accounts in the building and construction and films industry.
  • Account Penetration: Expands the number and range of contacts within the customer to ensure Americhem is well positioned to add value and understand the customer's unique needs and opportunities.
  • Relationship Building Skills: Proactively build networks with people at all levels and functions within large complex accounts to ensure Americhem is well represented and strategically aligned with the customer
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to professionally convey complex ideas, proposals, and programs to customer contacts and their management using Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent negotiating skills to persuade and effectively achieve win-win outcomes.
  • High Level of prospecting skills to proactively identify customer needs, expectations, and requirements
  • Maintains Documentation by reporting sales calls; maintaining sales account information; and proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications.
  • Solid Financial Skills for accurately analyzing and forecasting the revenue potential in business opportunities and manage the financial performance of accounts.
  • High Initiative, results orientation, and tenacity to achieve aggressive goals, deal with customer resistance, and to continue pursuing opportunities over extended periods of time.
  • Improves Job Knowledge by attending training and keeping relevant knowledge and skills current.
  • Demonstrates Interpersonal skills by working independently and with a team and delegating workload and responsibilities; attention to detail; effective time management; ability to set and meet personal and team monthly, quarterly, and annual goals and deadlines; communicating product status with personnel and other departments; and demonstrates a strong customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrate Leadership by effectively communicating with executive management and sales group and customers; leading, coordinating and delegating workload and responsibilities to deliver new opportunities, maintenance and economical use of resources; effectively participates and contributes on the sales team; understanding of business processes and basic corporate finance and management principles; leading, prioritizing and oversees multiple activities of resources to maximize their productivity and effectiveness
  • Contributes to Organization Success by meeting team and company goals; demonstrating company principles and core values; helping others accomplish job results; following all Quality System and safety protocols; completing safety training; safe driving record; and contributing to safety goal of zero accidents; keeping work areas clean and organized; developing and assisting in implementation of ideas for continuous improvement; demonstrating effective prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills; professional appearance and demeanor
