Part-Time/Non-Exempt Compensation Starting at $27.00/hour About Us:
Established in 1956, Laughlin Children’s Center, empowers children,
teams, and families through client-centered clinical and academic
services in a safe, supportive environment – helping every child
thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our clinical teams
offer speech and occupational screenings and therapy,
neuropsychological evaluations, counseling, and behavioral health
services. In our licensed preschool, we offer a half-day play-based
curriculum. For school-aged children, we offer academic
evaluations, traditional tutoring, and specialized instruction for
children with Dyslexia. The Opportunity: Laughlin Children's Center
is looking for a clinical mental health professional to join the
professional staff of the Psychology Department. The candidate for
this position will hold a valid clinical PA license and required
clearances. The candidate will agree to part-time employment
between the Center hours of 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, with ability to
offer therapy sessions during after-school hours (3:00 to 7:00) for
children ranging from 2 to 18 years of age. Key Roles and
Responsibilities Assist Intake department with triage and prompt
scheduling. Maintain an appointment calendar. Provide psychotherapy
to children, adolescents, and their families using evidenced based
modalities. Assist clients with transforming their stated concerns
into positively stated treatment goals. Monitor progress and
outcomes. Work as a collaborative team member with both Center
employees and external providers. Offer consultation as needed.
Encourage communication and information sharing with the adults
important in the life of the child. Provide regular time for phone
consultation with clients, parents, or others involved with the
child’s care. Complete documentation for insurance reimbursable
services with thoroughness and timeliness. Demonstrate basic
proficiency in using a variety of software, including electronic
medical records, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Required
Skills and Experience Master’s degree or higher in clinical study.
Candidates must hold a valid PA license such as LCSW, LPC, LMFT,
Psychologist. Must hold valid clearances (state and federal)
required for clinical practice. Clinical experience working with
children and adolescents. Strong knowledge of child development and
family therapy. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
is essential. Enthusiasm for the work of helping others and
repairing and restoring highest level of function. Knowledge of
Microsoft Office applications, and familiarity with electronic
medical record systems and with telehealth service delivery.
