Quick Job Summary Position: Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist / GI Physician Location: Erie, Pennsylvania (16544) — Lake Erie waterfront community Setting: Hospital & GI Lab (procedural gastroenterology, endoscopy) Type: Locum tenens (contract); 26-week assignment Job Details Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Call: Weeknight & weekend call required Shifts per Week: 5 (8-hour days) Patient Volume: 15–20 patients/day; weekend procedure census 5–7 EMR: EPIC Credentialing Timeframe: 60–90 days Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,200 – $7,340 Required Qualifications MD or DO with Board Certification in Gastroenterology Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in Gastroenterology (procedural experience preferred) Proficiency in general GI procedures, endoscopy, colonoscopy and ERCP ACLS and BLS certifications strongly preferred Conscious Sedation certification strongly preferred IMLC preferred; candidates with an active Pennsylvania medical license strongly preferred Primary Responsibilities Provide general gastroenterology clinical care in hospital and GI lab settings Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including ERCP, colonoscopy, and upper endoscopy Manage a caseload of ~15–20 patients/day and weekend procedure volume of 5–7 Participate in weeknight and weekend call coverage as scheduled Document patient care and procedures accurately in EPIC EMR Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (nursing, anesthesia, surgery, radiology) to optimize patient outcomes Why Join This Erie, PA Gastroenterology Assignment?
