Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Experience with advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and complex cardiac conditions. - Knowledge of care for patients with electrolyte imbalanced dysrhythmias and tachy-brady syndromes. - Familiarity with the care of patients awaiting heart transplants and those with implantable devices. - Skills in pre and post cardiac catheterization, ablation, and chemical cardioversion using anti-dysrhythmic medications. Description: The unit specializes in the care of patients with advanced heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. It also manages complex cardiac conditions, including electrolyte imbalanced dysrhythmias and tachy-brady syndromes. Care is provided to patients awaiting heart transplants. Additionally, the team works with patients who have implantable devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators. Specialized patient care includes pre and post cardiac catheterization as well as ablation procedures. The utilization of anti-dysrhythmic medications, specifically Tikosyn, is integral to patient care.
