Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC Must-Have: -
Preferred experience of 3-4 years. - Open to first-time travelers.
Description: Average number of treatments per day is between
90-100. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Both
RRT and CRT certifications are acceptable. Types of patients
include adults, pediatrics, and neonates. No NICU experience is
required. Work in an Emergency Department setting or pediatric
setting. Areas covered include Inpatient, Emergency Room,
Rehabilitation, PACU, SNF, Endoscopy, Cath Lab, and outpatient ABGs
and six-minute walks. RTs perform floor duties, including breathing
treatments and managing respiratory equipment. ABG draws and
capillary sticks for I-Stats are required. No EKG experience is
necessary. RTs will assist with intubations but are not required to
intubate independently. There is no hospitalist or intensivist
on-site 24/7. A supervisor or director is available daily from
Monday to Friday. Charge RTs supervise all other shifts. Travelers
will never be the only RT in-house. The equipment used includes
Puritan Bennett 840’s, BiPAP V60’s, and Airvo 2’s for high flow.
The schedule follows a four-week rotation with no self-scheduling.
The hours are from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM or 2:15 PM to 10:45 PM for
five 8-hour shifts per week. Weekend requirements are every other
weekend as per the schedule. Holiday work may be required and will
be accommodated based on the scheduling request. There is no call
or standby requirement. Scrub color is teal, and acceptable scrub
pattern shirts are permitted. Unit-specific orientation lasts 1-3
shifts with a preceptor as needed. Cancellation policy allows the
client to cancel two shifts per 13-week assignment and one shift
for assignments less than 13 weeks. Charting is done using Cerner
Corporation - Soarian.
