Job Description:
Interstate Waste Services, a leader in the non-hazardous waste
management in the Northeastern U.S., is seeking a highly skilled
Director of Maintenance for Landfill Operations. This pivotal role
is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities at our
landfill sites, ensuring the highest standards of environmental
safety and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring a
strategic vision to maximize asset utilization and longevity,
coupled with a proactive approach to compliance and innovation in
waste management practices. Develop and implement comprehensive
maintenance strategies for landfill equipment and infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations concerning
landfill operations. Manage budgets, forecasts, and reports,
ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Oversee a team of
maintenance managers and technicians, providing leadership and
development opportunities. Coordinate with other departments to
optimize operations and address inter-departmental challenges. Lead
sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact and
enhance community relations. Implement and monitor effective
preventive maintenance schedules to reduce unplanned downtime. Stay
informed on industry advancements and integrate innovative
technologies and practices to improve facility operations.
Expertise in landfill operation management and maintenance. Strong
leadership and team management skills. In-depth knowledge of
environmental regulations and safety standards. Proficient in
budget management and cost control. Ability to strategize,
implement, and maintain operational processes. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. Skilled in conflict
resolution and problem-solving. Medical Insurance 401k Professional
Engineering (PE) license preferred. Certifications in Waste
Management or Environmental Compliance. OSHA Safety
Certification.
