candidate will be an enthusiastic teacher of Senior School students
in the Social Sciences department, specifically in economics, a
skilled user of technology and 21st-century pedagogy, an eager
participant and collaborator in school life, committed to fostering
positive relationships for learning, and dedicated to our core
principles of knowledge, character, and community. Essential Duties
and Responsibilities Teach five sections of social sciences
courses, including economics Serve as an advisor to a group of 8–10
Senior School students Plan and facilitate meaningful, rigorous,
and level-appropriate instruction in economics Inspire students to
engage in the exploration and study of economics and related social
sciences through a variety of teaching methods and student
interactions, including interactive lectures, case studies,
simulations, data analysis, discussions, and project-based learning
Integrate real-world applications, current events, and global
perspectives into the economics curriculum Create a positive and
inclusive classroom environment that supports students'
individuality and encourages creativity, analytical reasoning, and
critical thinking skills Collaborate with colleagues to enhance
curricular focus and teaching strategies in order to build an
inspiring and engaging Social Sciences program Demonstrate a desire
for constant professional and personal growth by regularly
participating in and seeking out professional learning
opportunities Promote school life by sponsoring student clubs and
activities and serving on academic committees Requirements Minimum
of a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences, or a related
field is required; an advanced degree is preferred Minimum of three
years of social sciences teaching experience at the secondary
school level; experience teaching economics is strongly preferred
Proven record of ability to teach students with diverse learning
needs Ability to navigate sensitive conversations with families and
