Job Description Job Description The YMCA of Greater Erie is looking to hire a Youth Sports Referee (Play League Scorekeeper) at our Eastside and Glenwood YMCA locations. Are you dependable, energetic and have a passion for youth sports? Do you have experience with recreation activities and enjoy working with youth? If so, please read on! This position pays $8.00-$11.56/hour . A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REFEREE As a Referee for the YMCA of Greater Erie, you are positive as you assist participants of different ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. You possess basic fitness knowledge, good communication and interpersonal skills, and an amiable personality. Active CPR and First Aid certifications are helpful, but can be obtained at YMCA cost upon hire. You are enthusiastic and friendly as you greet members and guests as they participate in our programs. You will be friendly and respectful as you referee a variety of sports while maintaining an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship and YMCA Character Values. As someone who loves your job, you promote and sell memberships and programs in the community. With an eye for safety, you address member complaints and other problems and notify appropriate personnel as needed. You are also happy to set-up and tear down for youth sport programs and perform various maintenance a facility related duties. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A REFEREE Minimum 15 years of age. Current First Aid (for the community and workplace) and CPR Pro (CPR for health care providers and first responders) Certifications. Must be knowledgeable in YMCA Youth Sports. Excellent human relation skills. Act 33/34 and FBI clearances will be processed as a condition of hire. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
