Myers Tire Supply/Tuffy, an Akron based distributor, is looking for an experienced Accounting Associate to assist in the accounting department. This position requires attention to detail, accuracy, data entry, the ability to multi-task, intermediate computer skills, and general knowledge of both Accounts Payable and Receivable.


  • Process all vendor payments which include performing a 3-way match for all inventory purchases (match closed orders with vendor invoices, receivers and purchase orders) and entering vouchers for non-stock and expense invoices.
  • Prepare and process invoice deductions, as necessary.
  • Review, validate and process expense reports.
  • Maintain Accounts Payable vendor files.
  • Perform weekly check-runs.
  • Processing Dropships for Customer billing
  • Receipt inventory in TakeStock
  • Bill torque wrench repairs
  • Perform account analysis as needed.
  • Backup for Receptionist when necessary.
  • Post payments from Customers.
  • Confirm pick tickets for billing.
  • Run credit card payments from Customers.
  • Print invoices daily.
  • Assist with special projects, as requested.
  • Ability to meet deadlines to ensure a smooth monthly closing. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Must Have Skills, Education and Training
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Office skills through education, training and experience, including, but not limited to PC, Must have good communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Intermediate PC skills required: Microsoft Excel proficiency, data entry, data retrieval, filing, 10-key, math, problem solving, inventory management, accounting, record keeping
  • Common sense, good judgment, decision-making skills, ability to multi-task and detail oriented. Preferred Qualifications, Skills
  • 2+ years Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience.
  • Familiarity with inventory/warehousing processes Personal Qualities Needed

  • Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form.
  • Deal with problems involving standard situations; ability to know when to take the problem to another person for information, help or resolution PHYSICAL DEMANDS
